Over a lunch in 2017, the founding members of Oak Law came to a poignant realisation – an extinction event was on the horizon for law firms that refuse to adapt to their clients’ needs and desires. That realisation was the genesis of a law firm founded upon a simple premise – ‘Our clients’ businesses are one of a kind. If we are going to look after them, we need to be one of a kind as well’.
In pursuit of that premise, a boutique commercial law firm was brought into existence – Oak Law.
At Oak Law, we practise in the areas we excel in – and nothing else. We pride ourselves on creating personal and trusted long-term relationships with clients, many of whom we have worked with for a long time. In doing so, we gain an intimate knowledge of the specific client’s commercial and personal enterprises so that we can be not only an external source of trusted advice, but also your surrogate in-house legal Counsel.
By keeping the good practices learned from our time in large commercial law firms in Sydney and Adelaide, but excising the burdensome overheads of the large CBD firms, Oak Law provides a level of legal expertise usually only found at the largest CBD law firms at a cost those firms cannot afford to offer.
